School Meals, Milk and Snacks

If children eat better, they feel better, play better and work better. At Poulton Lancelyn Primary School, our healthy eating policy is carefully designed to ensure all children enjoy access to a nutritional and carefully balanced diet whilst on school premises.

 

Our suppliers – Taylor Shaw Catering Services - are a North-West based company who pride themselves on providing a consistently high standard of fresh food, fresh cooking, and craft trained catering teams, offering exceptional service. They use fresh, sustainable, locally procured ingredients, freshly prepared on site, giving parents and the school the peace of mind that children can have a healthy meal at lunchtime.

 

Taylor Shaw run themed food days throughout the year and for children not eligible for Free School Meals, these meals are charged at the normal rate of £2.41.

UNIVERSAL INFANT FREE MEALS 

All children in F2, Year 1 and Year 2 are eligible for Universal Free School Meals.

If your child has moved up to Year 3 they will no longer be eligible for Universal infant free school meals and therefore you will need to advise us if they will require a school lunch.

Each meal will cost £2.41 and our preferred method of payment is Parent Pay”.  If you do not have login details, please contact the school office.

Please remember to inform the school office of any changes to your child’s meal pattern to ensure that you are not charged.

 

FREE SCHOOL MEALS 

If your child is in receipt of Free School Meals (FSM)  please inform the school office.

MILK  
School milk is supplied by an outside provider. Milk should be paid for via your online account on their website www.schoolmilkuk.com.
Individual milk cartons are delivered to school each day.
Healthy snacks & Drinks
All children are encouraged to bring fresh water to school each day using a named, refillable water bottle, which can be accessed throughout the day.
 
EYFS & Key Stage 1
Each morning, children are provided with a portion of fruit/vegetables. However, if you wish to send in a healthy snack from home please consult the list of acceptable snacks from the letter below.
 
Key Stage 2
Children are welcome to have a mid-morning snack during their break time. If you would like send a snack from home there is a list of acceptable snacks on the embedded letter below.
