F2 Phonics Workshop
28.9.21
On Wednesday Miss Dixon and Miss Macdonald led a phonic workshop for our new F2 parents. It was very well attended and it was lovely to have our new parents in school after the pandemic disrupted our normal F2 welcome meetings last year. This workshops enable staff to demonstrate the methods and strategies that we use in school so that efective home-school links are created from the start of our pupils' education.
A Special Visitor!
28.9.21
All schools have special visitors from time to time to inspect how brilliant they are, and this week it was our turn to welcome Ofsted to Poulton Lancelyn. We would like to highlight how impeccably beheved our children were, and how passionate and articulate they were when answering questions. The staff behaved themselves too! We would also like to thank the parents, who responded to the parent survey, for their positive comments about the school. We all look forward to reading our published report in the next few weeks.
McMillan Coffee Afternoon
24.9.21
Today, we raised money for the McMillan Cancer Charity by holding a cake sale. Although we couldn't invite adults into school, the children had a wonderful time purchaisng delicious cakes. We would like to thank our school community for supporting this event and donating hundreds of cakes. The event total will be announced next week.
Starbooks Cafe
23.9.21
The Starbooks Cafe returned to school today. Pupils who missed the cafe at the end of last year were invited to have their hot chocolate and biscuit. It is great to see so many pupils enjoying reading and receiving incentives for doing so. The Starbooks Cafe will return to school later in the Autumn Term so get reading!
Big Friends Little Friends
20.9.21
Now that our newest pupils have settled in Foundation, we introduced them to their big friends in Year 6, who will visit them termly to make sure they are enjoying our school. It was great to have our children interacting with each other and sharing their experiences of school.
Clubs!
20.9.21
It is brilliant that our full club timetable is able to begin this week. Our staff are leading a range of enrichment activities so that the children can participate in a range of interests and hobbies. It is great to have Mr Johnson in school daily as this increases the quantity of clubs on offer. Over two thirds of our pupils have signed up to the autumn clubs and we hope that more will attend when other clubs become available in the spring and summer.
Phonics Workshop
16.9.21
It was great to be able to have parents in school today to attend a phonics workshop in Year One. The partnership between home and school is vital in suppporting pupils with consolidating their learning and workshops such as these enable school staff to demonstrate to parents the learning strategies used in school. We are looking forward to having a range of workshops throughout the year.
Welcome Back!
3.9.21
After a lovely summer break, it has been great to have our pupils return to school. It is wonderful to see so many happy faces entering school each morning, including our new F2 pupils. We are very hopeful that school will have more 'normality' this year, and the teacher are already busy planning exciting lessons and enrichment activities for the different year groups. Keep checking the website calendar for all of the events that are taking place.
