SEND Coffee Morning
We held our firs SEND coffee morning for parents in the main hall. The session enabled parents to network and Mrs Evans, SEND Lead of Oak Trees, explained some how SEND finances are used. We are very much looking forward to building this partnership with out parents and scheduling our next event.
We remembered those who had fallen in war today by completing a silence on the school playground. The children were very respectful during the silence.
Mental Health Support Team Coffee Morning
Parents attended our MHST coffee morning today to find out how the team can support pupils and parents at home. It was a very informative session and alot of information was given about the services available. Kate from Flourish also attended to explain the work that her company do to support pupils and their well being.
Anti Bullying Work
Today, two of our children travelled to Great Meols to work with children from the other MAT schools. They were createing a video about anti-bullying and the importance of friendship. We are looking forward to seeing what they produced.
Y4 Multiplication Workshop
It was great to see so many parents attending our first maths workshop of the year. As the Year pupils will complete their multiplication test at the end of the year, the teachers demonstrated different games and strategies that can be used to help develop times tables at home. The children had lots of fun learning at the same time.
At the end of Autumn 1, Poulton Lancelyn were awarded Primary School Team of the Year at the Wirral Sports Awards. All of the team attended along with their parents and a very proud Mr Johnson, who managed the team. The boys won the Merseyside Cup and the Wirral Houlihan Cup in the same year - an achievement never comlpeted before. Well done to everyone involved.
At the end of every half term we will hold our Proud Awards. These special assemblies give us the opportunity to invite parents in to school to see their children receive a certificate for their hard work. Today was our first ever Proud Award assemblies' it was lovely to see the smiling faces of the children receiving their certificates with their parents looking on.
