Space Balloon
26.5.22
Year 5 completed a very special mission this week - sending an Oak Trees MAT balloon into space! Along witgh children from the other MAT schools, the children learnt qbout space as part of their science topic, which linked in very well to this project. AS part of the activity the pupils designed an item to go up on the balloon and were able to watch as the balloon was launched into space from Hi-Impacts base site in Welshpool. I wonder if any of our pupils will one day go into space?

Year 6 had a brilliant time on their 3 day residential visit to Boreatton Park in Shrewsbury. The objective of the trip was to develop independence, which is an essential characteristic to possess as the children will soon be transitioning to secondary school. On the trip, the pupils made their own raft, put on their own harnesses and walked along some extremely high ropes. The group was extremely well behaved and showed real bravery when taking on the challenges. Everyone had an amazing time and made many great memories.
