End of the May Mile
31.5.21
It is the end of May, which means it is the end of the May Mile! We hope that everyone has enjoyed developing a health body and healthy mind during this month, as well as raising money for two fantastic local chartities. If you haven't already donated, there is still time using the Justgiving link on our Twitter page. Mr Lacey said last week that the total was above £1000 so we are very excited to see what the final total will be.
Break the Rules Day
28.5.21
The pesky PTA encouraged our children to break school rules again today! We had children with sillly hair, wearing their own clothes, bringing in cuddly toys and drinking juice rather than water. Tut tut! Thank you to everyone who donated to the day - a fantastic total of £623 was raised to continue to improve our school.
More May Miles!
23.5.21
3 weeks down, 1 more to go! The children have been exercising daily to increase our collective miles this month. It is great to see the children doing more miles outside of school and adding these photos to our Twitter page. We would like everyone to push hard for one last week to increase our miles further and, if you are able to do so, raise more money for our two very important charities that we are supporting.
Get Lost Litter!
23.5.21
Once again, our fantastic children have been out patrolling the local area to reduce the litter on our streets. Their efforts are really helping Mrs Higgins-Carter to gain our school the Green Flag Award. We do a lot of learning in school about sustaining the environment and it's great to see the children applying this knowledge outside of school.
Thumbs Up Year 4
18.5.21
Year 4 had a fantastic but sad last session with Thumbs Up today as we didn’t want it to end. Thank you so much for helping us talk about our emotions and build our resilience...as well as sharing your awesome magic tricks with us.
Cath and Sue will be back at school with Year 6 next half term.
Year 2 Barnstondale
10.5.21
It was the turn of Year 2 to have an adventure today, as they visited Barnstondale. The children completed a variety of activities including a woodland walk, an obstacle course and archery. All of the children loved the experience and learnt skills that they would be unable to achieve in school. Mrs Parkinson now thinks she is Robin Hood!
Photographs will be added to the enrichment page of the website shortly.
May Mile
9.5.21
It is the end of the first week of the May Mile and all of the children have participated brilliantly. Every day, the children run their way around the school grounds to show how active they are. It is great to see photos of the pupils participating at home too. Even the teachers are getting involved - Miss Marsden completed a half marathon! It is important to remember that we are raising money for two great causes so let's keep up completing the miles.
