General Re-opening Information

Following the Government’s guidance, we have put very detailed plans in place to enable our school to welcome back more pupils. Alongside the provision for key worker children, we have planned a phased approach to reintegrate children in Foundation and Year 1.

Enabling all of these phases to return will depend on several factors: staff availability, the number of returning pupils, the suitability of rooms and our confidence that all groups can maintain the strict social distancing and infection control measures. We will contact relevant year groups and update this section of the website when we can confirm start dates.

We understand that pupils and their adults may be anxious about returning to school. This page will outline some of the measures we have put in place and also some of the new routines that can be discussed at home so that the children understand the new systems in place at school.

Preparing your child at home
Encourage your child/ren to wash their hands regularly and to continue to do this when they are at school with soap and water or hand sanitiser for at least 20 seconds.
Remind your child/ren of the ‘Catch it, Bin it, Kill it!’ approach to reducing the spread of germs. This is where children cover their mouth and nose with a tissue when they cough or sneeze; then throw the tissue in a bin; then immediately wash their hands with soap and water.
Talk with the children about social distancing. Mark out a 2M line so they are familiar with that distance. Encourage them to keep to that at school where they can.
