To Whom It May Concern

I wanted to send an email to inform you about the fantastic online learning that has been put in place, very quickly, by my daughters school.

We started off the week isolating due to a close contact and my daughters class teacher Miss Marsden contacted me directly with links to their remote learning page. This page was populated with work for all year groups, for students to complete if they were at home, in advance of the announcement.  My daughter was able to start them straight away.

After the announcement late Monday the school quickly sent out their plan. They certainly listened to parent voice surveys which they had carried out last year.  Each day is starting zoom call from the teacher to the class, this is such a motivator and brings the class together. It explains yhe structure of each day. Critical worker children are also on the call from the classroom.

The school are using an easy to use platform called seesaw to set and assess work through the day, covering all subject’s.

My daughter was actually in school today and when she got home we went through the online activities and she confirmed that she had been guided through all of these in the classroom, this filled me with confidence.

The days are very structured with clear timetables sent out in advance with exciting, varied, fun, engaging activities. With the teacher online all day, answering queries quickly and praising the efforts of the children. The work that has been put into this must have been time consuming and demanding but really is phenomenal.

As a critical worker having to work, I was so worried about education this time around but Poulton Lancelyn Primary school leaders, teachers, teaching assistants and all involved really are doing the most amazing job at accommodating those at home and in school, equally. They have well surpassed any expectation.

With all the bad press and media reports i wanted to share with you a positive success story.

The children really are at the heart of this school with their right to education being at the forefront. A huge thank you from me.
Good Evening,
In light of the government announcement I wanted to make you aware that the staff (teachers, support and site staff) at Poulton Lancelyn are doing a fantastic job. My eldest child in Y6 had to isolate 10 days prior to Christmas break and the next day there was a plethora of activities linking into curriculum topics (on the platform seesaw) as well as teacher video explanation and zoom assemblies. This work enabled our son to continue with his education. Feedback was given quickly and was informative.
Since the recent lockdown began, again I've been highly impressed with the work produced and the communication to parents. As a critical worker, my 3 children attend the school and access all work online provided by their teachers. Therefore enabling myself and my husband to fulfil our own teaching roles. Poulton Lancelyn are doing an exemplary job at educating our children, and should be praised for all the continued hard work and dedication.
The staff at the school are working above and beyond, tireless in their effort to create as "normal" an environment as possible for our children in this time of great upheaval. Please do not let that go unnoticed.
