Children in Need 2019
What an amazing day we have had at school! We are only 3 months into this school year, and already BBC have been in twice. This time they came in because Pudsey wanted to see our wonderful school. He came with the North West Tonight presenters and their big red sofa. To welcome them, all of the children created a 'cheering tunnel' and in the hall Mrs Higgins-Carter had selected groups of children to show our guests activities such as the smoothie bike, hula-hooping and singing.
Throughout the week, the children have been completing different activities to raise money and using lesson time to count the cash. Even though you generously donated £547 for the Shoe Box Appeal last week, you dug deep again and together we raised over £2000 for Children in Need, over four times as much as last year!
Here at school we can't thank you enough for your kind donations and we are very fortunate to have such warm-hearted families at our school that help towards local charities such as Claire House at Clatterbridge.
Shoe Box Appeal
This week, marked the completion of our Shoe Box Appeal and what a fantastic effort we all made! After being donated over 100 shoe boxes by Clarks, the Rights Crew (and a wonderful group of parent helpers and church members) were able to make Christmas gifts for children in Romania. Thank you for all of your donations over the past month; we really do believe that these presents will help bring a smile to the faces of many under privileged children over the festive period.
Staff News
We have had some Staff changes this term.  Mr Smith, our Community Caretaker, has retired and we wish him a long and happy retirement.  Also, Mrs Parkes (cleaner) left us at the end of term and, as some of you may know, Mrs Mainwaring is taking her Maternity Leave.  We wish her all the best and are looking forward to meeting her new baby.
Tranmere Celebrations
Today we welcomed Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and to school to present our Year 6 Football Champions with their trophy. We asked them a few questions and Hadyn challenged them to a keepie up competition!
Road Safety
We would like to welcome three new children to our school...our road safety children! These new friends aim to keep us safe and remind visitors and parents to park safely. Thank you to PLPSA for buying these fantastic stands, the road safety team are thrilled with your support to achieve our mission
