Eat Them to Defeat Them!
30.6.21
Throughout the week, our wonderful catering staff from Taylor Shaw have been encouraging the children to eat more vegatables in order to defeat them. It was great to see so many children trying new foods and making healthy choices.
Rugby Training
30.6.21
Some of our lucky Year Three pupils had had a lovely afternoon of rugby enrichment at Birkenhead Park Rugby Club. Our school was the only school able to attend so the children really benefitted from some focused training. Hopefully this will help them to become rugby stars in the future.
Wonderful Wildlife
29.6.21
The foundation classes had a lovely time this week observing caterpillars. In the next few weeks, they will transform into beautiful butterflies - in the same way that our F2 children will transform into Year 1 pupils!
Dangerous Dragon!
24.6.21
Today, Year 1 welcomed Sam and Joe from Teach Rex to school. They brought a special guest with them - Luna, their pet dragon! Luna was very well behaved and even danced with some of the children. It was a great way to help the children develop their creative writing.
New F2
18.6.21
This morning, Miss Dixon and Miss Macdonald held a Zoom meeting for new F2 parents. IT was lovely to see some of the childre listening too! We can't wait to have the children join us in September. For more information about starting in September, please view our New to F2 tab on the website.
Starbooks Cafe
17.6.21
The Starbooks Cafe returned to school today and children who had read 10 of the Starbooks books were rewarded with a hot chocolate and a biscuit. It was great to see so many children attending and enjoying reading for pleasure. How many children will read 10 by the end of the year?
May Mile
15.6.21
After the success of the May Mile, Mr Lacey came in to school to thank the children for their efforts. Some children were selected by their peers and teachers for the extra effort that they put in; they received a special prize! The total is now up to nearly £4000 for the two charities, which is an incredible amount. Thank you to everyone who has donated.
Sports Day
11.6.21
Although it was sad that parents weren't able to attend, it was wonderful to be able to hold Sports Day for the children today. The event began with our opening ceremony before the children participated in 8 sporting events, including running, jumping and throwing. All of the children had lots of fun and behaved superbly. During the closing ceremony, the winning house was announced and children that had shown the spirit of the games received a trophy. Special thanks goes to the PTA for supplying all of the children with a biscuit medal and to all of the staff for organising and supervising the event.
Photos of Sports Day will be added to the gallery section of the website next week.

Y6 Football Competition
10.6.21
After more than a year of no competitive competitions, the Year 6 football team were able to participate in the Houlihan Cup Competition held at our school. We had two teams playing, along with teams from St. Werburghs, St. Johns and Christ the King. The boys played extremely well and behaved brilliantly. Team A played 4 games, winning 2 and drawing 2, meaning they finished on 8 points. Team B won 2 games, drew 1 and lost 1 therefore they finished on 7 points. St Johns won the competition on 10 points, but all the teams were winners as they were able to play in school sport after such a long period.
