1st December 2022
We hope that all of our families enjoy a festive break, get to relax and get to spend time together. See you in 2023!
What a busy Christmas build up we have had! The festive celebrations began on Monday the 5th of December when Santa decided to skype F2 and KS1 on Wednesday. He was just making sure that all of the children were still behaving themselves. The children were able to ask him some very important questions.
One Thursday the 8th, F1 and F2 parents attended school to watch their Christmas performance. It was lovely to have our youngest children together to perform for their families. This was followed on Friday by Ks1 performing their Christmas Story for their parents. What a fantastic show it was!
Tuesday 13th saw the whole school visit Floral Pavillion to watch the pantomime Cinderella, which was very entertaining. On the Wednesday, F1 went to watch Arthur Christmas at Bromborogh cinema - the all behaved superbly on their very first trip out of school.
The final shows from LKS2 and UKS2 were performed on the Wednesday and Thursday; one again the parents loved watching the children perform and speak.
Friday 16th was a very busy day with our wonderful PTA Christmas Market. Pupils were able to purchase gifts for their family members with the help of our PTA elves. We hope everybody enjoyed the gifts thatthe children selected. Mr Johnson also led the school Santa Dash around the school grounds. It was brilliant to see all of the children actively participating; they also received a medal for their efforts. In the afternoon, Mrs Higgins-Carter to some of her Rights Crew around the community to deliver Christmas cards. It was lovely to spread some happiness around the local area.
On the final two days of school the Christmas raffle took place, as did the paper chain cutting. Mrs Arnold cut the paper chain and the main prize was won by Arabella in Year 3. Well done! After all the excitement, the children enjoyed their delicious Christmas lunch, which was cooked by our lovely Taylor Shaw catering team. Y6 big firends also got to spend some time with their F2 little friends.
To end the school festivities, the children enjoyed a treat afternoon. Some classes played party games and others watched films, all whilst dressed in their party clothes. It was the parfect way to end a brilliant period of celebration.
Today, we welcomed our parents in to school to look at the wonderful work that the children have completed during Autumn Term. We aim to hold a curriculum afternoon each term so parents can see how lovely our school is and how the children are prgoressing.
F2 & KS1 had a special morning with Susanne Schroder who came to read her new book The Donkey’s first Christmas, which she wrote and illustrated. Thank you for sharing your new book with our children - they will enjoy reading their own copies in school.
Year 4 had a fascinating visit from Wirral Archaeological Society. We learnt about how they find artefacts using metal detectors and we investigated a variety of pieces of Viking and Anglo-Saxon objects found from around the Wirral. Thank you for a great afternoon.
Poulton Lancelyn Christmas Tree
As well as having two Christmas trees in school, we also provide a tree to St Andrews Church for their tree festival. Our tree will be displayed over the weekend and all of the decorations have been produced by the pupils in school. If you have the time, please visit the church and see our tree.
