Perfect PTA
20.12.19
We are very fortunate at school to have such supportive and generous parents. There is a particular group of parents, who encourage this link between school and our community, the PTA. Our PTA have been very busy in the past few months, working tirelessly to enrich the lives of all of our children and make their school experiences memorable. PTA contributions include:
-Organising and running the school disco
-Organising and running the Christmas Market
-Sourcing prizes for the Christmas raffle
-Selling paper chains loops
-Buying an ice cream for every child at the pantomime
-buying the reindeer given to the children by Santa
They have further events booked in for January, such as film nights, so if anyone else would like to volunteer time to support the group, please contact the school office. We greatly appreciate the work that the PTA does.

Mrs Collins
19.12.19
Today we said goodbye to Mrs Collins, our Deputy Headteacher. She has helped our school to grow and develop in the 7 years she has been at school and we know staff, children and parents will miss her support and guidance. Thank you for everything you have done Mrs Collins and please come back and visit us.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
19.12.19
With the Christmas performances completed, the school have been busy completing other seasonal activities.

On Tuesday, the whole school travelled to the Floral Pavilion to watch Snow White. This was a brilliant pantomime and a lovely morning out of school together, even though we were squirted by water pistols.

On Wednesday, the PTA ran our first Christmas Market, and what a wonderful event it was! Children purchased items from the market to  give to the special adults in their lives. Remember adults, no looking until Christmas day!

Today (Thursday) was a big one at school, with the Christmas raffle taking place in the morning, Chistmas dinner at lunch time and a party afternoon following this. We even had a special visitor in school during this event - Santa!

Tomorrow, we finish off term by evaluating our learning before the staff hibernate for two weeks in order to re-energise ready for January.

We hope all of the Poulton Lancelyn community have a merry Christmas and happy New Year.
Christmas Performances
16.12.19
Over the past week, all phases of our school have completed their Christmas Production. Foundation sang Christmas carols wonderfully today for their adults and we could not be prouder of their efforts.
On Friday, Ks2 performed their production twice, which is a fantastic achievement for 240 children all at once!
On Wednesday, Ks1 performed to their adults. The acting involved was brilliant and the costumes were just as spectacular, including the children dressed as presents!

Photographs of all three events will be in the gallery section shortly.

Woodland Area
5.12.19
Phase 2 of our outdoor environment work began today! We had Mersey Forests in school to help us plant trees for our new exciting woodland forest school area at the bottom of our infant field. The children and staff had a great time working as a team to plant the trees. Thank you to Mersey Forest,  as planting more trees will have a positive impact on our environment. Photographs from the day are in the gallery section.
Christmas Tree
7.12.19
This week, each child made a decoration for our Christmas tree, which is on display in St Andrew's Church. Please feel free to visit this wonderful work for yourself.
Walking Bus
6.12.19
Thank you very much to everyone who participated in the Year 6 walking buses this week. The pupils will now use this data from the buses to complete graph work. Small actions like this have a big impact on improving our environment and everybody that joined a bus looked like they were having fun. If you have any comments about the positive impact this had on your family and their environmental understanding, please email the office. A small selection of photographs are available in the gallery section.
Book Donation
5.12.19
Wirral Grammar School for Girls kindly donated books to Key Stage Two this week. We really appreciate kind gestures such as this. If you have any unwanted books at home that are in good condition and no longer wanted, please pass them to the school office.
Tyre Park
2.12.19
We have begun a very exciting phase of development at school...the playgrounds! We recognise that children need to be engaged in fun activities at all times of the school day including break times so we are working hard to build activities that motivate minds and bodies. To begin with, we have had a tyre park built on the edge of the infant field!

This will be used at break times by many children across the year but can we remind children not to use it before and after school for safety purposes. We  hope all of the children enjoy using it at some point over the year.
